Two of my favorite quotes and why

The two quotes that I am in love with are: “The truth needs no translation.” and “Be the change you want to see in the world.”

The first one: “The truth needs no translation.” means a lot to me to me on a very personal level.

To me this quote is about being true to yourself and knowing 100% that what you are doing is with an honest intent. The fact that others may doubt you, may try to call you out for being a phoney, doesn’t matter because the truth will come out in the end.

The truth doesn’t need to be explained or reiterated, the truth just is.

The second quote:  “Be the change you want to see in the world.” is a quote that I fell in love with in high school.

This quote was what woke me up from my own stupor when I was in high school.  I was that teenager that blamed the world for my problems never really looking too deeply at myself. I was angry at the world for being cruel and unforgiving which is true at times, even now.  The part that I was missing in high school was that I could make a difference, maybe not in respect to the whole entire world but in respect to the people around me. I could be a light that led people through their hard times or a firm shake to set people straight when they were messing up terribly.

I forgot when I was in high school that I was a part of the world and I could change my outlook and maybe even other peoples outlook.  This quote showed me that change starts with me and my small adjustment might encourage others to do the same.

These quotes follow me through out my life and remind me to keep my head on straight and look towards the positives.
